Power Wise – GIPL Grant

Power Wise – from Georgia Interfaith Power & Light

Since 2003, Georgia Interfaith Power and Light (GIPL) has helped congregations save precious energy and money. Under the Power Wise program, GIPL provides professional energy audits to congregational facilities. This is over 6 million square feet of space. Congregations are saving, on average, 10% to 20% on their energy bills, equaling over $1.2 million in energy savings and over 11 million pounds of carbon cut from the atmosphere. Under Power Wise, GIPL has also granted $571,864 in matching grant funds to help congregations make the necessary energy efficiency upgrades that would otherwise be cost prohibitive.  GIPL can do a lot to help your congregation!

Power Wise will provide, for free, to your congregation:

Any congregation or faith-based community (including faith-based schools) that has received a Power Wise Energy Audit is eligible to apply for up to $10,000 in Matching Grants to implement the Energy Conservation Measures suggested in their Energy Audit Reports. Learn more about GIPL at

All congregation or faith-based community (including faith-based schools) are encouraged to apply for Power Wise grants. In partnership with One Region Atlanta, GIPL will provide, for a limited time, free professional energy audits to Muslim communities in Georgia. Email to sign up!

Interested faith communities should call Rev. Kate McGregor Mosley or email for more information on the GIPL Power Wise program.
